Apparently the team clothing will be here shortly
after the middle of October... less than 14 days
to go (depending on the postal system:)!
I would like to suggest that we all get together
for a weekend of cycling up here on the sunny
coast on the weekend of the 8-9th of November and
do a couple of rides wearing the team kit!
My Sat ride on that weekend is 120km so I was
thinking that we could do something like all get
together and do a 60km loop with the coffee grind
(at an easy pace all staying together as a team),
stop for breakfast back at the start point, then
myself, Grant and whoever else would like to join
us, will do another 60km after breakfast. We could
then all meet up for dinner on the Saturday night
somewhere up the coast and meet up again on Sunday
morning for a skills session followed by an easy
50-60km Sunday

Hey Gabby, that is great news, I am glad to hear
that your back has improved and that you are back
on the bike. From what I have heard, Melbourne is
the cycling capital of Australia, if not the
world, so you shouldn't have a problem finding the
right club down there, that's for sure. I am on a
rest week this week and weekend but maybe the
following weekend on Sunday will be doing an easy
recovery ride if you want to go for a cycle, will
keep you posted. Will be mountain biking with a
mate this weekend which I am looking forward to.
Catch you soon

Hey all
Just thought I better post a note here. I had some
tough times in the last couple of weeks as I had a
back injury that wouldn’t allow me to do much at
all. After a few treatments, lots of rest, swim,
stretches and seeing a physiotherapist I am
finally on the right track to strength my lower
back and core muscles with the appropriate
exercises! It was great to get on the bike today
after 2 weeks. This week should be a good one for
me and then I might be able to join you guys for a
ride. However I am actually relocating to
Melbourne next month, so don’t think I can commit
to the Sunshine Coast team... I have done some
research on Melbourne cycling clubs/ teams and I
am sure there is heaps there. Hope to still meet
you guys for a ride. Cheers, Gabby

Hey all
Saturday will be 80km starting from my place
(leaving time to be confirmed, so far Grant, Emma
and myself) over Buderim, Palmwoods, Montville
(with 3 spin up attacks on the hill each in a
really easy gear), go along the top of the range
for 7kms and back to Montville, Kiel Mountain road
and home. Should be exactly 80kms. From Wed next
week I go into a rest week until the following
Wednesday. Hope you are all resting hard!

Pretty awesome to be beaten by a 68yr old huh :)
The guy is absolutely amazing!
Well done with winning your event, that is great
news! Moving up to B grade is a fantastic
achievement. I have decided to race the last three
non-crit events this year (I think Eumundi, North
Arm and a TT) so hopefully we will be able to race
together before the end of the season!
If you like, we can work on some hill climbing on
Saturday morning if you would like to join Grant,
myself and Emma for a ride. Sounds like you might
be going a bit old school on hammering yourself :)
Happy to offer some advice when we catch up if you
would like to hear it. Will be working all week so
next cycle is Sat morning for me.
Cheers

Oscar,
Yeh...I saw the results mate, got 4th. I see Tony
Bolter from HPRW won.....do you know how old he
is? Geez..he is a great TT rider. Went racing on
Saturday, won my event. Looks like I willbe
upgraded to C-Grade in Brisbane. Therefore, I
will do one more race in C up here, then will try
out B-Grade - small steps! Ride was okay, felt a
little flat up ther mountain until I realised I
was in a bigger gear- 17cog...No wonder! Problem
was,my legs never recovered from that so it became
a fight in the end. Therefore, tomorrow its punish
the legs time. Hill training tomorrow..going to
Montville again, over to Ilkley hills, down the
coast over to the rock again, and I found a new
hill in Yandina I would like to try. Anyone
interested? :). Is so,let me know so we can make a
time to meet in Palmwoods post office.
Ciao
Mark

Thanks Emma, it was a good start to see where my
legs are at this early stage of the training
programme!
Mark, had a tough ride yesterday and the TT today
so going to sleep in tomorrow and just do an easy
recovery ride. Have a great ride, next weekend
easy 80km on Sat, not sure what time, will depend
on my son's soccer game. Thanks for your email as
well, will write back tomorrow. Really looking
forward to next season.
Cheers

Hey team, hope you've all had a great weekend.
I won't be able to make it to Oscar's wed night -
so you'll have to let me know what you decide
about a team, etc.
Oscar - congrats on your TT today.
Mark - have a great ride tomorrow, wish i was
heading out for a ride instead of to work!
