i have recently formed a soccer team and i am looking to get the team sponsored, but unsure of how to go abuot it, does anybody have any ideas as to how i can go about it?

I looked into something similar a while ago and found my first sponsor. I found the easiest way to do this was to contact potential sponsors directly and meet them face to face. The most important thing to bear in mind when going to see someone is what can you do for them?

It seems that sponsors require the following questions answered:

* What coverage will the sponsor get i.e. where will their logos be displayed, who will see the logo etc.
* Who will get to know they are the sponsor i.e. will you have your photo in the local paper, will you put your team on a website, will you email 1000 people with the news that they are your sponsor, you wuill send out a newsletter and so on
* What do you want from them i.e. enough money for team kit, money for buses, money for team entries to tournaments etc.

I think if you can answer all these questions and put yourself in the sponsors position, you will have no problem finding local stores, shops, restaurants etc. who will contribute to your team.
